Happy Valentines Day


Happy Valentines Day!

With today being about the heart I wanted to share some tips on keeping our heart strong and healthy. 
By making the smallest of changes in your daily activity you can start increasing the overall strength and condition of your heart.  Here are 3 easy ones to follow.

1. Exercise. Instead of sitting while you type or work on your computer, stand, add in some heel raises and/or squats. Go for a 5 minute walk before you head back to the office after your break or before you walk into the door.  It may also help clear your mind and give you a fresh start for the afternoon or evening. Play tag with your kids for 10 minutes. It will put a smile on everyone's face.

3. Nutrition. Make healthy food choices.  Vegetables don't have to be eaten raw or in mass amounts to meet your needs. Throw some spinach or kale in your smoothie or shake.  Blend it and hide it in your hamburgers or meatballs.  Be creative and add some spice.  Have an apple today, a handful of small tomatoes or a ruby red grapefruit.

4. Breathe. Yes, I know we all do it but take in some bigger breathes today and every hour or so stop and inhale and exhale. Drop your shoulders, open your chest and be grateful for the day. 

Simple, quick and easy to-do tips. Live your life today and everyday....after all, that is what we were born to do!
